Travel Tips

First off - fly into Puerto Vallarta. If you don't do that, you'll surely have a fun Mexican adventure, but you will likely miss the wedding... Once you get to Puerto Vallarta, here are some thoughts/tips:

- You don't need a car once in Sayulita, and it is actually quite a pain to drive through Sayulita, since the cobblestone streets are narrow and most vehicles are little golf carts. We suggest only renting a car if you plan on exploring outside of the town of Sayulita.

- Since we don't suggest renting a car, here is the scoop on getting to Sayulita by Taxi. Sayulita is 45 minutes from the airport, and you could certainly take an uber (this is new to the area), but we have not tried it. We usually go to the taxi stand that is just inside the doors to the arrivals pick-up area. Once through customs (and the barrage of people trying to sell you timeshares as soon as you are out of customs) you will come out into the part of the airport where you see atms, some food places, and you will see a kiosk hat is well-labeled with the words 'Taxi'. You just tell them you are going to Sayulita, and  pay in advance.  They then give you a ticket to hand to the taxi handler. Once you pay they will instruct you to where to wait for the taxi.

- We do suggest that you request to rent a golf cart from your airbnb or hotel host, as they are a fun way to get around, and almost all airbnb hosts in Sayulita are used to lining up golf carts for their guests. Should cost about 40 or 50 dollars per day. You can certainly do without it, but it just is nice to have. Feel free to reach out to Nick and Hannah if you want to talk more about this. You can also just rent one once you get to town. There are lots.
